What time does the parade on Red Square start?

Moscow is preparing for the Victory Parade, which will take place on Red Square on May 9, 2018. In order for it to pass flawlessly, many factors should be calculated in advance and the interaction of a huge number of participants in the procession should be brought to perfection. How to watch the dress rehearsal of the 2018 Victory Parade in Moscow

The dress rehearsal of the parade represents everything that will take place on May 9 in the center of Moscow, to the nearest minute. The only thing that will not be is the top leadership of the country and honored guests of the parade, such as veterans who are still alive.

It is clear that the main persons at the parade are veterans. But the main attention in any case is always focused on the actual parade, the passage of equipment and infantry.

Thus, on Sunday, May 6, Muscovites will be able to see with their own eyes what the parade will be like three days after the dress rehearsal. Moreover, you can watch this action in a fairly calm environment. Although the security measures will be taken quite seriously, they, of course, cannot be compared with the day of the main parade.

Fans of military equipment can come to Tverskaya Street in advance to look at the latest Russian weapons up close. The column will move from Tverskaya at 10:00, but the equipment itself will be standing at night, so you can look at it from the early morning.

The route of movement of vehicles and overflights of aircraft in 2018 is known, so you can watch the parade through the streets of Moscow from any convenient point along the way.

This will be the largest parade in Russia - according to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, more than 13 thousand people will march in a solemn march, 159 pieces of equipment and 75 aircraft and helicopters will take part in the parade.

Parade on Red Square

On Victory Day, the weather is expected to be warm and sunny, the clouds in the sky over Moscow will be dispersed before May 9 in order to create favorable weather conditions for the military parade.

The parade on Red Square in Moscow in honor of the 73rd anniversary of the Victory will begin at 10.00 Moscow time - the state flag and the banner of Victory will be brought to Red Square to the sound of chimes.

The parade will be opened by foot columns - the 33 parade units include officers, sergeants and soldiers of formations and military units, students of the Suvorov and Nakhimov schools, students and cadets of military educational institutions, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

The main Victory Parade will be attended by representatives of the All-Russian children's and youth military-patriotic movement "Yunarmiya", female military personnel, as well as representatives of other law enforcement agencies (Russian Guard, Ministry of Emergency Situations, FSB).

The procession of military equipment will be the culmination of the parade on Red Square - in 2018, 159 units of modern weapons and the most advanced vehicles will take part in it.

On Red Square in Moscow, for the first time, the latest Russian weapons will be shown - tank support vehicles "Terminator", robotic demining systems "Uran-6" and multifunctional combat complexes "Uran-9", unmanned aerial vehicles "Korsar" and "Katran".

The mechanized column included modern and advanced weapons systems: Tigr vehicles, T-72BZ tanks, BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles, BTR-82A armored personnel carriers, Msta-S self-propelled howitzers, BUK-M2 anti-aircraft missile systems, missile complexes "Yars", anti-aircraft missile and gun systems "Pantsir-Cl", as well as promising samples: tanks "Armata", BMP "Kurganets", armored personnel carrier "Boomerang" and self-propelled howitzers "Coalition-SV".

Aerobatics teams "Swifts" and "Russian Knights" will also take part in the parade on Red Square in Moscow. The SU-25 will complete the aerial performance - they will "draw" the Russian flag in the sky.

Where to see

You can watch the parade on Red Square itself, but it will be possible to get there only with invitation cards. Invitations are issued to citizens of the following categories - politicians, civil servants, veterans, military and journalists.

The Victory Parade, if you do not have an invitation card, is easiest to watch on TV, sitting comfortably in an armchair - federal channels will broadcast live. The online broadcast will also be conducted by the 9maya.ru website.

Muscovites and guests of the capital will also have the opportunity to view military equipment on the route of the column.

The route of movement of vehicles is already known. At the general rehearsal, which took place on May 6 with the participation of parade crews and equipment on foot (aircraft did not fly over Moscow due to low cloud cover), the time and movement will be exactly the same as on Victory Day.

All equipment for the Victory Parade, as usual, will be deployed in a wasteland along Nizhniye Mnevniki Street, from there the column will start moving towards Red Square at 6:00 am Moscow time.

The column will pass along the Zvenigorod highway, turn onto the Garden Ring, from there - along Tverskaya-Yamskaya Street to Tverskaya. There will be a stop - you can go to the cars and take photos

You can also see military equipment on the way back, but on a different route - the column will return along Vasilyevsky Spusk, through the Kremlin Embankment, Vozdvizhenka Street and Novy Arbat, with a turn to the Garden Ring and Zvenigorodskoye Highway. It should be noted that the last equipment leaves Red Square at about 10:50.

In order to see the equipment on Victory Day, you can choose any place along the entire route to the parade, except for the section of Tverskaya Street from Pushkinskaya to Manezhnaya Square, which, together with the Kremlin Embankment and Red Square, will be closed.

There will most likely be a lot of people who want to look at military equipment, so you need to "book" the best places in advance, a couple of hours before passing the equipment.

Aviation is clearly visible from many sides - airplanes and helicopters will fly closer to the end of the parade - at 10.45-10.55 over Leningradsky Prospekt, 1st Tverskaya-Yamskaya Street, Tverskaya street, Red Square, Payshskaya embankment and further - to the airfields.

It is better to observe planes and helicopters from the odd side of the streets, as they fly over the even side of the houses. On 1st Tverskaya-Yamskaya Street and Tverskaya Obzor may be limited to tall houses. An excellent place where you can see and photograph aviation against the backdrop of St. Basil's Cathedral is the Payshskaya embankment.

Airplanes do not fly strictly over Red Square, but a little to the side - over GUM, so that they can be better seen by spectators who have gathered on Red Square.

Muscovites and guests of the capital will also be able to take part in other celebrations dedicated to Victory Day, including thematic programs on Poklonnaya Gora, pedestrian zones, boulevards, culture and recreation parks.

The Victory Day will end with a grand fireworks display.

Material prepared on the basis of open sources

One of the most important events of the 20th century was the victory of the Soviet people over fascism in World War II. In the historical memory of peoples and in the calendar, the main holiday will forever remain - Victory Day, the symbols of which are the Parade on Red Square and the festive fireworks in the sky of Moscow.

On May 9, 1945, at 2 am Moscow time, announcer I. Levitan announced the surrender of Nazi Germany on behalf of the command. Four long years have ended, 1418 days and nights of the Patriotic War, full of losses, hardships, grief.

And on June 24, 1945, the first parade dedicated to the victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War took place on Red Square in Moscow. The combined regiments of the fronts, the combined regiment of the People's Commissariat of Defense, the combined regiment of the Navy, military academies, military schools and troops of the Moscow garrison were brought to the Victory Parade. More than 40,000 military personnel and 1,850 pieces of equipment passed through Red Square. It was raining during the parade, so military aircraft did not take part in the parade. The parade was commanded by Marshal of the Soviet Union K.K. Rokossovsky, and the parade was received by Marshal of the Soviet Union G.K. Zhukov.

Stalin, as well as Molotov, Kalinin, Voroshilov, Budyonny and other members of the Politburo, watched the parade from the podium of the Lenin Mausoleum.

A documentary film was dedicated to the Victory Parade - one of the first color films of the USSR.It was called “Victory Parade”.

On this day at 10 o'clock in the morning, Marshal of the Soviet Union Georgy Zhukov rode a white horse from the Spassky Gates to Red Square.

After the command "Parade, at attention!" The square erupted in thunderous applause. Parade commander Konstantin Rokossovsky submitted a report to Georgy Zhukov, and then together they began to detour the troops.

Following this, the signal “Listen to everyone!” sounded, and the military band played the hymn “Glory, Russian people!” Mikhail Glinka. After Zhukov's welcoming speech, the anthem of the Soviet Union was played, and a solemn march of troops began.

Banner of Victory hoisted over the Reichstag in Berlin, 1945

The parade was opened with the banner of Victory, which was transported through Red Square in a special car, accompanied by the Heroes of the Soviet Union M.A. Egorova and M.V. Kantaria, who hoisted this banner on the defeated Reichstag in Berlin.

Then the consolidated regiments of the fronts marched across Red Square.

After that - the famous Soviet military equipment, which provided our army with superiority over the enemy.

The parade ended with an action that shocked the whole world - the orchestra fell silent and, to the beat of drums, two hundred soldiers entered the square, carrying trophy banners lowered to the ground.

Rank after rank, the soldiers turned to the mausoleum, on which the leaders of the country and outstanding military leaders stood, and threw the banners of the destroyed Nazi army captured in the battles on the stones of Red Square. This action has become a symbol of our triumph and a warning to all who encroach on the freedom of our Motherland. During the Victory Parade to the foot of the mausoleum of V.I. Lenin threw 200 banners and standards of the defeated Nazi divisions.
