Many of our students learn Czech with the specific goal of obtaining free higher education in the Czech Republic in the Czech language.
For admission and further study at the university, knowledge of the Czech language at level B2 is required. Typically, reaching this level requires a year of intensive training.

Annual courses “Standard” and “Premium”

To achieve level B2 you need to complete at least 500–600 lessons. We provide training on the annual course “Standard” (560–620 hours) and “Premium” (870 hours).

The choice of course depends on what specialty and what university you are enrolling in - how high the demands the faculty places on the language competence of foreign applicants. When enrolling in the humanities, as well as when enrolling in leading universities (Charles University, Czech Technical University, Higher School of Economics, Higher School of Chemical Technology), we recommend choosing maximum language training.

An express course involves training businessmen who are limited in time and need knowledge of the language of a specific area.

The “minimum” course provides its students (mainly tourists) with basic knowledge of the language in the main areas of life.

O'key International Language School
  • standard courses taking into account the level of language training (beginner, elementary, pre-threshold, intermediate, above average);
  • individual courses, where the program is built in accordance with the student’s goals;
  • online courses for those who cannot study with a native speaker due to employment or distance from the place of study, but have at their disposal an Internet connection, Microsoft and Skype programs, a microphone and headphones;
  • children's courses, where groups are formed taking into account the age of the children, and the learning process takes place in the form of an exciting game, leading to memorization of vocabulary, understanding of Czech speech by ear, development of memory and linguistic abilities of each child.

The main feature of teaching at this school is the use of communicative methods in teaching students reading, speaking, listening and writing in a foreign language. In addition to the courses, the school provides the opportunity for additional classes in the following programs: a grammar course (from elementary to pre-threshold levels), a conversation course, a business course (improving business vocabulary from intermediate to advanced levels).

The effectiveness of language courses in the country

Studying the Czech language in the Czech Republic has a number of specific advantages.

  1. Course participants are given the opportunity to be in a language environment. It is precisely this that contributes to the formation and subsequent development of speaking, reading, writing, listening comprehension skills, and increasing the level of vocabulary proficiency over an extremely short period of time.
  2. A conscious choice of a training program that involves the use of a method such as an open dialogue between the teacher and students, which allows not only to comprehend the basics of theory, but also to develop analytical skills.
  3. Optimal price-quality ratio (the cost of courses in the CIS countries is high due to the rarity of teaching Czech; here there is practice with native speakers, rather than studying a standard language).
  4. Conducting classes by experienced teachers from institutes, universities, and academies who have extensive experience working with foreigners of various levels of preparedness.
  5. Organization of courses by state accredited educational institutions of the Czech Republic, no problems when obtaining study visas.
  6. Obtaining a certificate subject to successful passing of exams confirming the level of Czech language proficiency according to the CEFR system (A1, A2, B1 or B2).
  7. Possibility of admission to any Czech institution of higher education on a budget basis after completing special preparatory courses.
